Reversible Wooden Fabric Decoupaged Bunny

Hi Everyone! Here is another decoupage project. Decoupaging is definitely a way to go to get a custom one-of-a-kind look. This may be our last bunny for the season. Easter is upon us.

Reversible Wooden Fabric Decoupaged Bunny. It has green circles on one side and pink, yellow, green, blue plaid on the other side. Both sides have matching bows.

We decoupaged this bunny with fabric on both sides. The hardest part was choosing which two fabrics to use. Then choosing a paint color for the side edges.

Mom cut the bunny out of some thick wood we had on hand. She also did the decoupaging. I then painted the sides and sanded it and put the bows on it. I think he turned out so cute! I had painted the sides white, then green…..then yellow won out.

The top ribbon with the flowers on it is extraordinarily beautiful. It is sheer with flowers and on top and around the edges.

Here is the green side. It has a smaller ribbon.

This little bunny could be put on a kitchen island and seen from all sides. I love that it is reversible.

I hope this project has inspired you in some small way. That’s what this blog is all about. Sharing of ideas. It keeps Mom and I busy and filled with purpose. We don’t make a lot of money doing this but that is okay. It is just fun.

Thank you for reading my blog!! It means a lot to me!

Turquoise and Brown Wooden Cross with Jeweled Pendant

Hi Everyone! We are here to inspire you to be creative. Having a hobby can help you with grief and depression. Here is another craft idea if you are interested.

Turquoise is a very special color to me. It is my birthstone. So this is a very special cross. It has three layers of wooden crosses plus a turquoise and brown (tiger’s eye) stone embellished cross. The stones are faux but they are beautiful!! I will be keeping this cross. It is just beautiful and I don’t think the pictures do it justice.

Mom began with the bottom layer which has a very nice shape to it. But when she put the second layer it really began to look like a work of art. The third cross was added on top because the jeweled pendant didn’t show up against the brown background. It along with the jewel was the pièce de ré·sis·tance.

Here it is sitting on my buffet. It matches my buffet and painting perfectly.
Mom bought this pendant at Joann’s Fabric store. Luckily they were half off when we went. This was the PERFECT cross to put this jeweled cross on!!
Here it is at another angle on my Farmhouse buffet.

I hope we have inspired you to go out and be creative. Even if you don’t have wood to work with you can recycle and repurpose items you do have. Think outside the box and create mixed media which is a combination of painting, collage, decoupage, ink stamping, etc. The possibilities are endless! Just have fun!

Wooden Short Easter Bunny with Happy Painted Face

Hi Everybody!

For the spaces in your home where you don’t have room for a full size bunny, here is a short version. It is just a Bunny Bust. It is just the face and neck with a big bow tie. All bunnies were made with repurposed fence boards. This wood is thicker than privacy fence board however, not quite thick enough to stand alone.

Wooden-Short-Bunny with painted face and ears. He has a bow and eggs that have a bunny and Happy Easter on them.

Mom made little wooden feet (paw) so that the bunny would stand alone. Mom does all the cutting of the wood. She made a pattern similar to the porch leaners we made.

Wooden Short Bunny.

Between his paws and his bow there was room to add some decorated eggs. I am an Independent Chalk Couture Designer so I used two Easter transfers to put the wording on with white chalk paste. I did paint these and then wax them so the transfers would not bleed.

Wooden Blue Cross with Cameo and Sheer Ribbon

Crosses are great for this season and any season. Mom has been working on several at the same time. Here is the first one she finished. It is made out of wood and she painted it light blue so the dark blue sheer organza ribbon would stand out against it.

Wooden Blue Cross with Cameo

She created a base for it so it would stand alone. Some of them she makes so that they hang up and some she makes so that the stand up.

The ribbon inspired her with this cross. It is a beautiful color of royal blue.

As you can see, it can be mixed in with your other Spring Decor.
The ribbon has an iridescence to it.

She had a blue cameo that matched perfectly that she decided to put in the middle. It is the perfect finishing touch.

The cameo is the highlight in the picture.
Here it is nestled between the pair of bunnies that have the same color ribbons.

Thank you so much for reading about my Mom’s Blue Cross. She has more coming….stay tuned.
