Purple Witch Leg on a 4×4

Here’s another CUTESY Halloween Decor Item. We had several 4×4’s used as pumpkins and candleholders that we repurposed into some Halloween decor. This particular one held the one leg I could find at Walmart and a witch hat pick.

I painted the 4×4 solid black and my Mom drilled some holes in the top so the leg and hat picks would fit into them. Below is a picture I took from my Facebook Live explaining what I was going to do. I love that the Dollar Tree napkins matched perfectly with the colors in the picks.

Here’s the BEFORE PICTURE.
I decoupaged the napkin on the front and back and randomly added Purple Dots.
I love the sparkly purple and black stripes and feathery trim on the witches leg.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Glamorous Flourish Finial

You may already own something similar to this finial. It might be stored away in your attic or basement or garage. Maybe you are tired of it. It no longer matches your decor. REFRESH it. Add paint and embellishments that match your CURRENT decor or turn it into HOLIDAY DECOR.

I have redone so many of these finials that I don’t even remember what color it was to begin with. But I like the SHABBY CHIC style so I painted it white and then antiqued it with Valspar Antiquing Wax. I then added sparkling ribbon and rhinestones.

I used a pin from TOTALLY DAZZLED.

It is now even Wedding worthy. But it could have easily been painted to fit in with your Fall Decor or Christmas Decor.

Think outside the box, and redo, repurpose, refresh, rehab some of your decor. I am just here to shoot out ideas to you. Have fun! If you try something like this comment below and let me know.

Turn Easter Decor into Spring Decor

Hi Everyone!

I am here to give you inspiration, ideas, and little tricks or hacks. This was a very cute Easter Vintage Truck which was purchased at one of the dollar stores. It carried Easter Eggs in the back bed. It was so cute, that I wanted to keep it out for another month or so or even longer. My Mom made some felt flowers to put in the back and voila, it is now SPRING DECOR. The flowers cover up the Easter Eggs perfectly. They are not even glued in.

Easter Vintage Truck changed to Spring Vintage Truck using Felt Flowers.

Felt flowers are VERY easy to make. They are nice to make when it is raining outside. We chose colors that complimented the existing colors of the truck. My Mom used buttons for the centers of the flowers.

The flowers are not glued in. They are removable.

I hope this post helps someone get the idea to change out their Easter Decorations before putting them up for the year.

I hope we have inspired you to get creative!

Berry Wreath Repurposed Into Valentine’s Decor

My husband and I received this wooden serving tray as a free gift for buying some furniture. But it was way too TEAL to match my home decor. I thought if I white washed it that it might bring down the teal to a good distressed aqua color.

IT WORKED! I LOVE IT!

Here is a time lapsed video showing how I white washed it.

I thought it would look perfect as the backdrop to my Christmas Berry Wreath that I wanted to REPURPOSE and use for Valentine’s Day. (I have a post of how I made this wreath from an embroidery hoop and dollar tree berry picks.)

Keep reading for more pictures and details.

As you can see it is very, very teal compared to my dusty aqua blue.
I used this chalky finish in Vanilla to “white wash” over the entire tray.

Below is the tray after I finished white washing the top and the sides. It is exactly how I imagined it would be. Not too white or too cream and no longer too teal. I would brush on some of the Vanilla and then use a paper towel to wipe some off. I worked it in similar to stain.

I knew it needed a HEART to make the wreath look like Valentine’s Decor. So I had one in my stash and I painted it a dark red to match the berries.

I like the elongated shape of this heart.

Below I was trying to figure out how to attach the heart to the wreath and the wreath to the tray. I decided to use twine and Valentine ribbon. I just hot glued the ribbon to the back of the tray and can easily remove it after Valentine’s Day.

Here I was trying to get the heart to hang in the middle of the wreath.
I bought this ribbon at Hobby Lobby. Buffalo Check plus glitter hearts! Love it!
I love how it turned out. I needed something bold for the top of my antique fireplace Mantel.

I love repurposing, refurbishing, rehabbing, refreshing decorative items into something more useful and beautiful.

Thank you so much for reading my blog. I truly appreciate EVERYONE! Hope you are having a happy New Year!
