Reversible Wooden Fabric Decoupaged Bunny

Hi Everyone! Here is another decoupage project. Decoupaging is definitely a way to go to get a custom one-of-a-kind look. This may be our last bunny for the season. Easter is upon us.

Reversible Wooden Fabric Decoupaged Bunny. It has green circles on one side and pink, yellow, green, blue plaid on the other side. Both sides have matching bows.

We decoupaged this bunny with fabric on both sides. The hardest part was choosing which two fabrics to use. Then choosing a paint color for the side edges.

Mom cut the bunny out of some thick wood we had on hand. She also did the decoupaging. I then painted the sides and sanded it and put the bows on it. I think he turned out so cute! I had painted the sides white, then green…..then yellow won out.

The top ribbon with the flowers on it is extraordinarily beautiful. It is sheer with flowers and on top and around the edges.

Here is the green side. It has a smaller ribbon.

This little bunny could be put on a kitchen island and seen from all sides. I love that it is reversible.

I hope this project has inspired you in some small way. That’s what this blog is all about. Sharing of ideas. It keeps Mom and I busy and filled with purpose. We don’t make a lot of money doing this but that is okay. It is just fun.

Wooden Short Easter Bunny with Happy Painted Face

Hi Everybody!

For the spaces in your home where you don’t have room for a full size bunny, here is a short version. It is just a Bunny Bust. It is just the face and neck with a big bow tie. All bunnies were made with repurposed fence boards. This wood is thicker than privacy fence board however, not quite thick enough to stand alone.

Wooden-Short-Bunny with painted face and ears. He has a bow and eggs that have a bunny and Happy Easter on them.

Mom made little wooden feet (paw) so that the bunny would stand alone. Mom does all the cutting of the wood. She made a pattern similar to the porch leaners we made.

Wooden Short Bunny.

Between his paws and his bow there was room to add some decorated eggs. I am an Independent Chalk Couture Designer so I used two Easter transfers to put the wording on with white chalk paste. I did paint these and then wax them so the transfers would not bleed.

Hoppy Easter Porch Leaner

Hi Everyone!

We made another Porch Leaner with ears! We sold the other porch leaner so we made another similar one. This time I painted the flowers on and put Hoppy Easter on it. He is made of wood and painted white with pink ears and a cute face!

Hoppy Easter Porch Leaner with Swirl Flowers.

I used the same facial features as the last porch leaner called “Follow the Bunny he Has Chocolate”. Once I get a “happy” face, I like to keep using those same features. Read about that bunny here:

I used Chalk Couture transfers with my Raspberry Chalk to put the letters on. I am an Independent Chalk Couture Designer. I used the HOPPY part of my Hoppy Easter transfer and then I used the Rustic Letter Alphabet letters to vertically write out EASTER.

I made swirl flowers along the edge of the “Hoppy Easter”. These are made by swirling several colors of paint until you get the look you want. I went back and made white swirls inside each flower along with green leaves between the flowers.

What fun it is to paint! I am now retired so I have time to craft and paint and then blog about it. I always wished I had more time and space to craft and paint when I was younger. Now my dream has come true.

I sealed the porch leaner with spray acrylic paint because it will go outside my garage and be exposed to the elements.

Next, I made the bow. We did have to go to Hobby Lobby and JoAnn’s to buy some Easter/Spring colored ribbon.

Hoppy Easter to all of you!

Endearing Pair of Bunnies, Repurposed Home Decor

Hi Everyone!

This cute pair of bunnies started their life as wooden rustic photo holders. Mom repurposed these to be bunnies after she repainted them gray. Keep reading for more info.

Wooden 2x6's with Burlap on top. They have ears made from thin wood. Eyes are upholstery tacks and whiskers are made from curled wire. The nose is a heart shaped piece of wood.
Started out as Photo Blocks

Mom put burlap on the front sides. She made ears out of thin wood and put burlap on them too. She painted the inside of the ears pink.

She made heart shaped button noses and wire whiskers. She made eyes out of brass tacks. She put a bow on top and Voila’. Done.

When you get tired of home decor change it up. Repurpose it. Refresh it into a different season.

Cutie Potootie, Egg Bunny, Creating is Therapy

Hi Everyone!

Are y’all looking forward to SPRING! Mom and I sure are. Here is a cute little Bunny with FEET. Mom did get her inspiration from Pinterest. I searched to give that person credit, but could not find the inspiration picture again.

Home Decor, Cutie Potootie Egg Bunny

Mom stained the wood with acrylic paint mixed with water. Regular stain has such an odor and takes so long to dry that we frequently use this type “stain”.

The ears and whiskers are made from fairly heavy duty wire. The eyes are tacks and the nose and teeth are wood.

At first the bunny had only one wire whisker, but it look more like a mustache, so Mom put three on each side and Voila’ WHISKERS. He is so stinking cute. I love his teeth and feet.

He looks good sitting on my fireplace mantel.
Spring is in the air…..It was 70 degrees yesterday! Yippee!

Scrap wood really comes in handy when making DIY woodcraft home decor. Making these projects makes my Mom so, so happy! It defeats her depression and is great therapy!

Adorable Bunny Family, Home Decor

Hi Again Everyone!

My Mom has to keep busy. She is from the old school of believing that staying busy is the best therapy to ward off depression and anxiety. The winter season is hard on her because being outside is another way for her to beat depression. Thank goodness spring is coming soon.

Here is a project she worked on during a bad weather spell that kept her inside. I didn’t get many pictures because she finished them before I knew she was even working on them.

She had put button eyes and noses on them. But the buttons made the bunnies look mean and beady eyed. So we decided they would be faceless and flowers would go next to their bows.

I have a collection of flowers but I needed quite a few so I went with the pastel ones because I had a whole full package of them.

These flowers looked the best with the ribbon I had on hand too!
They look so spring time!
Black, white and aqua with a little pink and yellow thrown in!
