Halloween FUN BLACK CATS

Hi Everyone!

Last year we made these cute Black Cats all in a country farmhouse theme. This year, I wanted to change them up and jazz them up. So, on one set, I put dapper black and white houndstooth ribbons and on another set I put white feather boas. Totally Dazzled Bling had to go on them too! I tried to do a video with the “Green Acres” song, but it was nixed. I understand because I don’t have permission to use it. But it was a really cute video.

My Mom made these last year out of 2×4’s. They are SO CUTE! Whether you want a country cat or a city cat…..(Town and/or Country Style) these are FOR YOU! Have fun for Halloween. No fright…..just fun!

We made all our cats like this last year. Too cute! Raffia was their embellishments.
Here’s our uptown cats. Black and White Houndstooth ribbon with Bling.
Here’s our Park Avenue Cats. I put feather boas on them along with some Bling. I also added eyelashes.

Hope these brought a smile to your face. It’s all for fun anyway. Thanks for supporting my blog. I really appreciate it!

Skull on a Finial, Make Creepy Fun!

Hi Everyone!

I am two days away from the one year birthday of my Blog! I am trying to do a blog almost everyday in celebration. We have so many ideas and crafts to share. Here is a fun one to try or change up to be YOUR STYLE.

I bought this skull from WalMart and it had a hole already in the bottom. I tried setting it on this finial and it worked! I thought then that it would look great all glamorized up.

I added Diamond Dust to the entire skull. To make her a little more creepy, I added a spider to the top of her head. Then after that she needed a pearl in one of her eyes. Then I couldn’t’ resist adding two feather boas and some bling to the finial.

For the finial, I had already used the magic of Rub n Buff. I wish I had stock in that company because I LOVE Rub n Buff.

Here, you can kind of see all the sparkle from the Diamond Dust on the skull.

I hope you liked this UNEXPECTED, creepy but glamorous addition to our Halloween Decor. If it made you smile in some small way, we did our job well. I don’t like the DARK side of Halloween. I like to keep it light, bright and fun.

Thank you for reading my blog!! It means a lot to me!

Upscaled Dollar Tree Foam Pumpkins

Two pumpkins two different ways. One can be for FALL and the other for HALLOWEEN. I painted one a metallic copper color and wrapped with an iridescent brown fabric and finished with a finial. The other one I left orange, wrapped with black lace and finished with a little witch hat. The elevation of the candlesticks REALLY is what takes them OVER THE TOP!

The first one we (my Mom and I) made was the brown one. I painted it metallic copper. Then Mom made a yo yo from iridescent brown fabric and gathered it all up at the top. She also made a yo yo from burlap as the topper to cover all the gathers. It also made a good surface for the finial to be placed on top.

What is a yo yo you ask? They are the rosettes that turn into yo yo quilts.

“Yo-yo quilts are made from round pieces of fabric with long stitches along their turned-under outer edges. Stitches are pulled to gather the circles into rosettes.” —-TheSpruceCrafts.com

For the finial and candlestick, I painted an old world bronze color and then used Antique gold Rub n Buff.

I think this one turned out so elegant and sophisticated. It looks Old World Luxurious. The fabric and finial came from Hobby Lobby. The candlestick was thrifted from GoodWill. More pictures will be at the bottom.

For the next pumpkin we wanted a Halloween theme. We didn’t have any black lace so my Mom dyed the lace using black acrylic paint. She didn’t make a yo yo for this one, she just used a rubber band to secure it a the top. We knew the witches hat was going to hide the rubber band.

The witches hat was bought at Michaels and the candlestick was bought from a garage sale.

I painted the candlestick with black spray paint and added glitter paint to it. I also added some glitter paint to some of the black lace.

Below are some more pictures. I hope you try these projects. The possibilities are endless! Comment below if you try it and let me know what you come up with. Crafting is FUN!
