“Don’t Be Green with Envy” Pumpkin
Hi Everyone!
Make a Christmas Pumpkin. This one turned out more beautiful than I imagined in my head. The green velvet poinsettias are the pièce de résistance on this project. Let me show you what I added to make this pumpkin special.

First, I started with a paper mache pumpkin from Hobby Lobby. I painted it green. But not just any green. I had to match my sister’s home decor and she loves sage green. When I found the velvet flowers in Hobby Lobby, I knew those would be perfect. They are velvet so they transform and meld from light to dark green. So I had to mix several green paints to achieve a color that would blend. The main colors that I blended were an evergreen, a yellow, and just a little white. Then the pumpkin still looked a little chalky so I added a VERY light coat of metallic gold on top.

I added green bead garland down each groove of the pumpkin. I tried to just add hot glue to the top and the bottom so the glue doesn’t show.

I added the gold pick leaf florals first. You have to hold them on until the glue hardens.

Then I added the sage green ball floral picks.

Next came the velvet green poinsettias. I LOVE them. Then I added two gold glitter deer among the leaves.

Next, I wanted a pedestal for it. So I painted one I had bought at a thrift store. I used gold and then antiqued it.

Below are some pictures of it all finished.
