Old World Bronze Pumpkin with Bling

Hi Everyone!

I adore this pumpkin even though it is definitely not traditional orange. I like the linear line of the florals on top. I used traditional color floral and small pumpkin picks for embellishments. I painted it Oil Rubbed Bronze and put rhinestone ribbon along the grooves. I also used Dollar Tree rhinestone ribbon to cover up the stem. I think it turned out so awesome that I had to make a matching pedestal.

I bought several paper mache pumpkins from HOBBY LOBBY. I have made several metallic pink ones, a metallic teal one, covered one with sequin fabric and covered two with Leopard Print tissue paper. I decided to make this one in Old World Bronze. I make my own oil rubbed bronze paint color by mixing black, metallic copper and gold paint together. I learned how to make it from Kathy at Royale Funky Junque. Please go follow her FACEBOOK page. After I painted the pumpkin, I added the rhinestone ribbon. I buy my ribbon from TOTALLY DAZZLED and cut strands as I need them. It comes in a big roll and you can use to any width you want. I just wanted one row for this pumpkin.

I used hot glue to attach the floral picks and I used super glue to attach the rhinestone trim.
Here is a picture I took during the process of adding the floral picks. The plastic pumpkin stem still needed something. See the next picture for what I decided to add.

I added DOLLAR TREE rhinestone ribbon all cut up to fit around the whole stem. The colors on this ribbon are gold and green. Perfect fall colors.

After I finished the pumpkin, “it told me” (yes, my crafts talk to me, lol) that it needed to be elevated. So I had this wooden candlestick from DOLLAR GENERAL that came in black. I painted it to match and added some of the rhinestone trim to it too. As you can see from the pictures below, I decided to keep this pumpkin for my foyer. It matches so well. See pictures of it below in my home.
