Makeover a Box Storage Chest

Hi everyone!

Mom and I found this little broken chest at a flea market near my home. We brought it home and showed it some love by repairing the wheels and the hinges. Then it needed a couple of more coats of white paint.

Ignore the dirty floor in my garage….lol…. But as you can see, the little chest needed two coats of fresh paint. We used regular house paint because we did this part last year when white craft paint and white chalk paint was hard to find during the pandemic.
Here it is after we repaired it but we had not painted it yet. It was storing some of our supplies in it and helping prop up finished crafts.
It is getting ready for it’s new coat of paint here.

Here is a quick time lapsed video of me putting on the transfer and painting the stripes. This video is housed in Facebook. Click Here to view. Please excuse my voice over inexperience.

I used a Redesign by Prima transfer that I ordered from Amazon. It comes with four different patterned transfers. I could not find it on Amazon anymore, but it is on Etsy. See the picture below.

I love the light pink and purple tones of the florals in this transfer. I used a purple and pink paint mixture to outline my stripes on my box chest.
I decided to take a picture of my box chest out on my patio. The sripes looked good out there with my black and white decor. My rugs were not out because of all the rain we have been getting.

I hope this post has inspired you to take a look around your home, attic, basement, or local flea market to find a small piece of furniture to MAKEOVER!
