Trash to Treasure, Metal Vase

Hi My Blog Reader Friends! Tomorrow is the one year birthday of my BLOG. I want to thank all of you for reading, looking at my photos, liking, commenting and subscribing! It brings joy to my heart to know there are people who like what I post. This post is going to be another story of Trash to Treasure.

I bought this metal vase at a thrift store and knew it had possibilities. I decided to make it shabby chic with a touch of elegance.

Here I am holding it up on a Facebook Live Video showcasing my Thrifting Treasure Finds.

The first thing I did was to spray paint it white with Rustoleum 2x Paint and Primer. You could also use chalk paint. Anything that is going to stick to metal.

Next, I used Valspar Antiquing Wax to make it vintage looking and to bring out the details.

Putting on the antiquing wax.

I didn’t take a picture after I finished antiquing it or during my Rub n Buff application. Sorry about that. But I did use the Antique Gold Rub n Buff just to highlight the handles and engraved areas. I had thought about putting black and white stripes on it but thought it looked great and elegant just shabby chic white and gold. More pictures below.

I also did the inside in case the buyer doesn’t want to put flowers inside.
Here’s a closeup. The Rub N Buff is not an exact application when you use your fingers. But preciseness is not what I go for.

Another close up.

Thank you for reading my blog!! It means a lot to me!
