French Shabby Chic Bottle
Hi Everyone!
Learn How to Make a French Shabby Chic Bottle and how it came to life. This was the second bottle art project that I made. I wanted a French Vibe this time around with a hint of Steam Punk. My first altered bottle project was Old World Style and was painted Oil Rubbed Bronze in color. You can find the first bottle I did by CLICKING HERE. Read below about the colors I used for this one.

Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.
To Start the French Shabby Chic Bottle
This bottle was purchased at an antique store. I don’t think it is really “antique” but I loved the shape of it. A Vintage French Perfume look and feel was the vibe I was going for. First, spray paint with Rustoleum 2x Paint and Primer in “Heirloom White”. Here is a convenient Amazon Affiliate link for the spray paint.
Sorry, I forgot to take pictures of the process. I got so involved and didn’t take a before or during photo. But the steps are outlined below.
After Letting It Cure
I then added dark wax from Valspar. This wax is my favorite because you rub or brush it on and then rub as much as you like off to get the tone you are looking for. I presume all waxes are similar but this is the one I first used and continue to use.
To Embellish
I bought the vintage perfume labels from Etsy. It was a downloadable print. I also have one on the backside, but I didn’t take a picture. I love that this bottle had a stopper already in it.
Next, I added a necklace that I bought from Joann’s Fabrics. I also bought the key and flower pendant from there too. Buy items like this when they have their 50 off sales for their jewelry making supplies.
If you have any bottles or know someone who does, think about trying bottle art. It really comes out prettier than you think it would.
Creating and Crafting can be done many ways. I love this bottle media. You can search on Pinterest and find so many interesting ways to beautify what could become trash. I love Trash to Treasures!
