All About Bees in Home Decor. Bumble Bees and Queen Bees are so popular again this season. Make a few of your own. This is a great spring or summer or even year round theme. Below are a few ideas to make door hangers, window leaners, and shelf sitters.

This Bee is black, white and yellow. It has swirls inside the wings and a bow at its neck. It can be a door hanger or window leaner.

Patterns and Inspiration

I think Mom’s inspiration came from Pinterest. However, we put our own twist on things to make them all different. We hope to inspire you the same as we were inspired.

Mom did a great job with making all the patterns and painting the basic colors. You can use wire for some of the bee’s antennas. Some antennas were part of the wood patterns. If you ever want a pattern, just email me.

Pictures of the Process

The process of making a wooden bee. Paint the head black and wings white. You can either paint the body black and paint in the yellow stripes or do vice versa.

Bee Skeps

Mom made a few bee skeps by wrapping rope and twine around wood cut outs and also an empty Ensure Bottle. Recycle, Recycle. Please CLICK HERE to see the blog post on “How to make Bee Skeps.”

These were twin bees. Except for the wings they are the same. A swirl stencil from Michael’s was used to add interest and movement to the wings. The bee skeps are pictured with the twins.

Designer Inspired Bee

Next in line, is a designer inspired bee that I did after watching Debi Rigg with Studio MD AZ. Debi is an expert at checking in black and white. You will find she breaks it down into easy steps. She also inspired me to make the toy bee from the Dollar Stores.

You can use all this decor on it’s own or with a whole theme. Put the bess on a wreath or a tiered tray or shelves on your coffee bar.
