Ode to Dolly Art Journal Pages
Hi Everyone!
I love VINTAGE. These photos of Dolly inspired me to create these two pages for my online Art Journal Challenge. Please keep reading to see what all the challenge was about.
Marjie Kemper is our wonderful teacher for this challenge.
For the page below we were supposed to use a textured surface. I didn’t have modeling paste so I used floor grout. Believe it or NOT, it worked! It was gray in color which matched the gray tones of the photo so I left it the color it was. The vintage photo to go with it was an older photo of Dolly Parton.
“POUR YOURSELF A CUP OF AMBITION”
The blues and yellows and browns were done by Ranger Distressed Inks.
For the next page we were supposed to use choose a photo and a snarky remark and put it all on a background made from Washi tape.
I think Dolly was perfect for this challenge too.
“IT TAKES A LOT OF MONEY TO LOOK THIS CHEAP.”
I remember when Dolly said the quote “It takes a lot of money to look this cheap.” I laughed and laughed. That’s what I like about her. She has so much humor and wit. She came from humble beginnings and is so down to earth that anyone can relate to her. She is such a STORYTELLER. That is why her song lyrics hit home runs.
My black background on this page was painted on. Not with a brush but with a food scraper. It made it look like wood actually. GET CREATIVE! It is so much fun!!
If you like to journal AND you like Art…. Maybe you would like to ~ART JOURNAL~. I have found that I love it. I am taking a class and these are some more pages I created. We will create ten altogether for this online challenge.
I LOVE Mixed Media Art. What I like about it is…everyone’s art looks different. In this challenge, everyone’s journal pages look different. You use the supplies you have on hand so that forces everyone to be different.
