More About Art Journals

Hi Everyone!

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, if you like to journal AND you like Art…. Maybe you would like to ~ART JOURNAL~. I have found that I love it. I am taking a class and these are some more pages I created. We will create ten altogether for this online challenge.

I LOVE Mixed Media Art. What I like about it is…everyone’s art looks different. In this challenge, everyone’s journal pages look different. You use the supplies you have on hand so that forces everyone to be different.

Marjie Kemper is our wonderful teacher for this challenge.

For the page below we were supposed to use a stamp with a bird on it. I will add to my rubber stamp collection, but in the meantime I used a scrapbook page that had a bird on it. I also didn’t have any Tim Holtz charms but I did have a key with a message on it.

DREAM (Bird and Key)

I bought some scrapbook paper that looks vintage. If you are not new to my blog, you know I LOVE VINTAGE.
The key charm had DREAM on it. Perfect.

For the background, we used cardboard and took off one smooth side to reveal the channels. That makes the background so interesting. We added some paint in whatever colors we wanted.

The twine was blending in too much so I painted it with a darker color brown.

For the next page we were supposed to use a rubber stamp of a FACE. But I used a vintage picture instead. For my sentiment, I put a prayer I often ask the Lord. “What would you have me do? Where would you have me go? What would you have me say? And to whom?”

When in doubt about your life….say a prayer.
I love this prayer. Sometimes, I think I should give up my arts and crafts and truly retire. Maybe I should give up my blog. But the Lord seems to be telling me to keep going. That’s why this prayer is so precious to me.
Art Journals do not have to be put away in a notebook never to be seen. Take the pages out and display in with your home decor. Especially if they look good with different holidays.

I hope you will stop by my blog and see all my pages as I finish them.

Take care, God Bless….Kathy
