Art Journal Pages One and Two
Hi Everyone!
Who likes to journal? Who likes Art? Maybe you would like to ~ART JOURNALl~. I have found that I love it. I am taking a class and this was two of the first pages I finished.
What I like about it is…everyone’s pages look different. My Art Journal has a definite butterfly theme.
Some people have chosen a WORD FOR 2021. I think I did this unwittingly. My word is BUTTERFLY. Maybe because I want to fly among the flowers. Maybe I want to transform. Maybe I want to take flight. Maybe I want to take the time to enjoy nature. But whatever my reasons, they are beautiful creatures that I can’t wait until spring is here to see again.
My wonderful online teacher is Marjie Kemper. She always recommends using supplies you ALREADY have. For the page below I was supposed to have die cut gears on the right hand edge. But I don’t have a die cutter. So I used ribbon with beads from the Dollar Tree Store.
FIND YOUR PURPOSE AND SHINE
I also did not have the ready made tag. So I made one from a manila folder. I also was supposed to have a different background. I only had blue card stock. You just go with what you have. I LOVE IT! I did use the DISTRESSED INKS as was recommended. I plan on buying some more stencils. But again I used what I had. I used my computer to create my sentiments.
For the next page I was supposed to use black card stock as the background. But I only had dark brown scrapbook paper. The left side is a torn page from a book. I have to tell you a secret about myself. I cannot bring myself to tear a page out of a book. I guess maybe I could if it was already falling apart. So I copied a page from a book I had on hand and used that.
FIND YOUR OWN VISION
The border on the left was supposed to be another die cut edge. But I used a border from a scrapbook page. I like how she teaches to use stencils and inks to lay across all layers. I also used the computer to make my sentiment. Until I get more stamps. lol.
I hope you will stop by my blog and see all my pages as I finish them. Not all of them will have butterflies, but most of them will.
Take care, God Bless….Kathy
