What to do With an Old Frame
Hi Everyone! I looked around at Goodwill and found a couple of frames I wanted to upcycle. I want to start painting again as soon as I have room in my garage. Right now it is FULL of crafts and craft supplies. Hopefully it will empty out as we do Craft Shows.
But in the meantime…..I used these frames for my Chalk Couture Creations. I am an Independent Chalk Couture Designer. Please take a look at my separate Facebook Page which highlights all about this great company. They offer upscale DIY home decor possibilities.
I have several “transfers” for Christmas that I needed to get busy and use. Christmas will be here before we know it. For this project I used “All is Calm, All is Bright”. Such a beautiful song!
For the surface, I used a dollar store cardboard canvas. I painted it white with acrylic paint and after it dried, I waxed it. Depending on your surface, it is very important to wax before you put down the transfer. Or the transfer may pull up your paint when you remove it.
Now these canvases are not smooth like a chalk board. The chalk paste does prefer a really smooth surface. But I like that distressed farmhouse look. So I really like this picture.
I put the picture towards the right hand side so I would have room to put a bow around the left hand side.
I have another frame that I put SEASON’S GREETINGS in. That blog post has already been posted.
Thank you for reading my blog!! It means the world to me!
