Dollar Tree Small Tree
When I bought this little tree my Mom said to herself (she later told me this) “What is she going to make from that little scraggly thing???” I bought two of them. I saw someone put two of these together to become one tree on YouTube. I had to give it a try.
Actually Mom joined in and it became a challenge for both of us.
We opened up each tree and pushed all the branches to one side. Then we wired them together and used some glue too. She wrapped the trunks with the garland from Dollar Tree. The garland hid the two columns of trunks. I thought I had taken some pictures of the process but I can’t find them. I know, I know, I need to become a better step by step blogger. I just get so wrapped up I forget to get my camera.
I had the little galvanized bucket in my stash along with some styrofoam. Mom hid the styrofoam with more garland. It was top heavy due to the bucket not really being big enough or heavy enough. So we improvised and glued the bucket on a scrap piece of wood.
Now to decorate it. I picked up so many cute decorations made with buffalo plaid at Hobby Lobby and the Dollar Stores.
Then Mom wrapped the little round styrofoam balls with buffalo plaid fabric. She has the patience of Job from the Bible.
The tree skirt was the icing on the cake. Buffalo plaid won’t you come out tonight?…. The green doesn’t show up too good against all the black and white of my patio….but…..
As you can see from the above picture it really turned out so, so cute. I take pictures on my patio because the lighting is so much better. Nothing beats God’s light. Sunlight. But I do want to take another picture with a solid background so you can get the full affect of our transformed Charlie Brown Tree.
MOM NOW THINKS IT IS THE CUTEST THING EVER NOW!
Hope you liked this post. Please keep checking back for more posts you might like to read about. I hope you DIY a tree of your own. You can’t beat ONE DOLLAR. Well actually THREE DOLLARS. Two trees plus the garland. I don’t count the bucket, styrofoam or scrap lumber since that was in my stash.
