Gray Chunky Candle Holders
The color gray is ever so popular so we decided to make some gray candle holders. These will be great for Christmas but you can change the ribbon and presto, you have a home decor item for all year long.
Don’t put them away with your Christmas Decor….(even though this ribbon does NOT scream Christmas)….change the ribbon and voila’ , you have everyday Farm House Style.
We have made a lot of these chunky candle holders. They are made from 4×4’s. We try to find untreated lumber. When cedar is too expensive, we try to find lightweight treated ones.
We cut to all different heights. This set has a short one in the front instead of our usual set which is staggered.
I chose the red ribbon with whip stitching and then the gingham or buffalo check on top of that. My best tip for putting the ribbon on is to pull tight and hot glue the ends in the back. Hot glue one end on the back, then wrap tight and glue the other end. We tried gluing all the way around but it ends up showing through the ribbon.
Mom put the jute twine around the glass portion of the votive candle holder. We do sell the small battery operated tea light candles with the set.
Below is a closeup picture where you can see the tea lights.
Below you can see how the set looks on my patio table. Gray looks great with black and white and red.
